- For the Cheese Layer:
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 15 oz ricotta cheese (optional for added creaminess)
- Additional:
- Cooked pasta sheets or use ready-to-bake no-boil lasagna sheets
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meat Sauce:
- In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, sauté until they are translucent.
- Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef and pork. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon.

- In a baking dish, start with a layer of meat sauce at the bottom.
- Follow with a layer of pasta sheets.
- Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the pasta, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of cheeses on top.
- Bake:
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes before serving to settle the layers.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or basil for a fresh touch.
