Chocolate Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
- For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- For the Filling:
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 9 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- Chocolate chips, for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until the mixture is well combined and crumbly.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Place in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the filling.
- Make the Filling:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the heavy cream to a simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt. Gradually whisk the warm chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the chilled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the filling is set but still slightly wobbly in the center. Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a small saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Pour the glaze over the cooled tart, using a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips while the glaze is still wet.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours or until the glaze is set.
- Serve:
- Remove the tart from the pan, slice, and serve chilled.
