Beef Queso Dip Recipe

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped (optional for extra heat)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lb Velveeta cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Beef:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the excess fat.
    • Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeño (if using). Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add Spices and Tomato:
    • Stir in the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add the diced tomato and cook for another 2 minutes until the tomato starts breaking down.
  3. Melt the Cheese:
    • Reduce the heat to low and add the Velveeta and cream cheese to the skillet. Stir until the cheeses are completely melted and combined.
    • Gradually add milk to reach a desired creamy consistency.
  4. Serve:
    • Transfer the dip to a serving bowl or keep it warm in a slow cooker.
    • Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.
