Decadent Old Fashioned Toffee Recipe
How-To Assembly Step: Before you begin, line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. This removes the air from the frosting.
A good start: In a heavy saucepan, combine 2 cups sugar and 4 tablespoons Hershey’s cocoa powder. Mix until well combined.
Butter Joy: Add a knob of salted butter and 5 grams of Carnation milk to your sugar and cocoa powder. This is where the magic happens!
Stirring: Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Crossing the goal is a soft ball. The best way to test this is to drop a small amount of the mixture into cold water. When it turns into a soft ball, it is ready.
Vanilla Essentials: Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla extract. This will take your fudge to a whole new level of deliciousness! About
Nut Fudge: If you’re a fan of nuts, add them to your mix now. They add a nice touch and contrast with the creamy texture of the fudge.
Set it and forget it: Pour mixture into prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Let it cool for a few hours. For best results, do not taste it and let it sit overnight.
Grand Finale: Once completely hardened, lift the fudge with parchment paper and place on a plate. Cut into squares with a sharp knife and enjoy the fruits of your labor
