 Ingredients:

500g package  dried green  peas

2 carrots, diced

1 onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1 bay leaf

2 large ham bones

2 cups  frozen peas

Preparing the peas: Begin with Rinse the dried  peas with cold water, remove any residue and discard. Place them in the slow cooker.

Combine ingredients: Add chopped carrots, chopped onions, minced garlic, and bay leaf to  slow cooker. Place the ham bones between the vegetables and peas.Cooking: Cover the ingredients with about 10 cups of water, making sure everything is submerged. Place your slow cooker on low heat and let the soup cook for 7 to 8 hours, or set it on high heat for a  cook time of 3 to 4 hours. The goal is for the split peas to soften and for the flavors to blend beautifully.

Final touch: When the cooking time is up, remove the bay leaf and the ham bones from the soup. Remove the meat from the bones and stir it  into the soup to add an extra layer of flavor and texture.Season and serve: Taste the soup  and adjust  seasonings as needed. Serve hot, perhaps with a side of crusty bread for dipping. Storing

Soup:

This soup will last in the refrigerator for up to 3 days if stored in an airtight container. It can also be frozen to make it last longer, so you have a comforting meal ready whenever you feel like it.
