Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 9 uncooked lasagna noodles

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Meat:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the meat is browned and the onions are soft. Drain any excess grease.
    • Stir in the marinara sauce and set aside.
  2. Mix the Cheeses:
    • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the slow cooker.
    • Place a layer of uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce (break them to fit).
    • Spread a layer of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
    • Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese.
    • Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. Top with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  4. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the noodles are tender.
  5. Serve:
    • Let the lasagna sit in the slow cooker with the lid off for about 20 minutes to set before serving.
