Maple Caramel Bacon Cracked Donuts
Ingredients:
2 (15 packs) cold phyllo dough (30 in total) For soft phyllo dough, I recommend not using too thick as it will be heavy and bulky, cut section –
3/ 4 cups black
1/2 cup maple syrup I I used pancake maple syrup, but real maple syrup works too. Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place the phyllo cups on a tray and set aside.
Fry the bacon in large pieces in a large skillet and cook until the bacon is cooked through but not brown. The bacon should be on the firmer side as it will cook more as it cooks. Place the bacon on a paper-lined plate and let it cool before cutting it into small pieces.
Spoon Place 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar on each sheet of dough and top with a small basket of maple syrup. Fill the edges of the phyllo bowl with bacon and press it into the glass. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
Round boil. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls and bacon have risen and the caramel has thickened and caramelized. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
