Cherry Cheesecake Recipe
Ingredients:
- For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- For the Cheesecake Filling:
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- For the Cherry Topping:
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Set aside.
- Make the Cheesecake Filling:
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Add sugar and vanilla, and beat until combined.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until blended after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream.
- Pour the filling over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake sit in the oven with the door closed for 1 hour.
- Add the Cherry Topping:
- Spread the cherry pie filling over the top of the cooled cheesecake.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to set completely.
- Serve:
- Remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and place it on a serving plate.
- Cut into slices and serve chilled.
