- Make the Dumplings:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Mix in the melted butter and milk to form a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls, and if you’re using fillings, press a little into the center of each dough ball and seal it up.
- Prepare the Caramel Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream.
- Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then add vanilla extract. Remove from heat.
- Cook the Dumplings:
- Bring a large pot of water to a simmer. Drop the dumplings into the simmering water and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until they rise to the surface and are fluffy.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and drain well.
- Serve:

- Pour the warm caramel sauce over the dumplings.
