Strawberry Swiss Roll Recipe
Ingredients:
- For the Sponge Cake:
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pink food coloring (optional)

Instructions:
- Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper and lightly grease or spray with non-stick spray.
- Make the Sponge Cake:
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Add vanilla extract.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold into the egg mixture until combined. If desired, add a few drops of pink food coloring to achieve a pink hue.
- Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared pan.

- Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Assemble the Swiss Roll:
- Unroll the cooled cake and spread the cream filling evenly over the cake.
- Reroll the cake without the towel. Trim the edges for a clean look.
- Coat the Roll:
- Cover the outside of the roll with the remaining cream or a thin layer of simple frosting as glue.
- Press the crushed sponge cake crumbs onto the frosting.
- Decorate with fresh strawberry slices.
- Chill and Serve:
- Chill the roll in the refrigerator before serving to set the cream and make slicing easier.
- Slice with a serrated knife and serve chilled.
