Pecan Pie Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
For the crust:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
For the filling:
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup honey (or you can use corn syrup if preferred)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 3 cups chopped pecans
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to lift out the bars easily after baking.
- Make the Crust:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan, forming an even layer.
- Bake the crust for about 20 minutes until it is just beginning to brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the honey and brown sugar, and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream.
- Mix in the chopped pecans.
- Assemble and Bake:
- Pour the pecan filling over the hot crust, spreading evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the filling is set.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Lift out using the overhanging parchment paper and cut into bars.
