– 8 ounces elbow macaroni
– 1 ½ cups cooked lobster meat, chopped
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 2 cups whole milk
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
– 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
– ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2 teaspoons black truffle oil (or more to taste)
– ½ cup panko bread crumbs
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook the macaroni:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the cheese sauce:
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, cooking until the mixture begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the cheese and seasoning:
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sharp cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan cheeses until fully melted and combined. Stir in the Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to taste. Once smooth, mix in the black truffle oil, adjusting the amount to your preference.
4. Combine with lobster and macaroni:
Gently fold the cooked macaroni and lobster meat into the cheese sauce, ensuring everything is evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
5. Prepare the topping:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the panko bread crumbs. Transfer the lobster mac and cheese mixture to a buttered baking dish and sprinkle the bread crumb mixture evenly over the top.
6. Bake and serve:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
This Lobster Mac & Cheese with Black Truffle Oil is the epitome of comfort food luxury, marrying creamy, cheesy goodness with succulent lobster and a hint of sophisticated truffle aroma.
