1. **Preheat the Oven:**
– Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
– Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. **Prepare the Dough:**
– In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
– In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and well combined.
– Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until smooth.
– Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
– Stir in the chocolate chips by hand to distribute them evenly throughout the dough.

3. **Shape the Cookies:**
– Scoop out dough using a spoon or cookie scoop and roll it into small balls or slightly oval shapes (as shown in your image).
– Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
– Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie dough ball to make them look extra appealing.

4. **Bake:**
– Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
– Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

5. **Serve:**
– Enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or as a snack anytime!

Tips:

– If you want crispier cookies, bake them a minute or two longer. For softer cookies, slightly underbake them and let them cool on the baking sheet.
– You can also add nuts, such as walnuts or pecans, to the dough for an extra crunch.

These cookies are perfect for a cozy treat or sharing with friends and family. Enjoy baking!
