Grilled Cheese Sandwich

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • Bread (preferably thick-cut white or sourdough)
  • Cheese (Cheddar, American, or any preferred melting cheese)
  • Butter

Instructions:

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place a slice of cheese between two slices of bread, with the buttered sides facing out.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat.
  4. Place the sandwich in the pan, and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 2-4 minutes per side.

Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 ounces) chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh herbs (like basil or parsley), for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until onion is translucent.
  2. Add the whole tomatoes along with their juice and the broth. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Puree the soup using an immersion blender or in batches with a regular blender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with a drizzle of cream and fresh herbs if desired.
