Classic Amish Hamburger Steak Recipe

Two pounds ground beef
Crushed crackers, about 1 1/2 cups (1 box of crackers)
Measure out one cup of milk
Italian herbs, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon
onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon
0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
jalapeño pepper, 1/4 teaspoon
wheat, for baking
If you like it spicy, add salt and freshly ground pepper.
With the sauce:
1.5 cups milk
Two 10.75-ounce cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
Instructions:
1. Grease a 9ŗ13 baking pan and set the oven temperature to 350°F.Mix 2 pounds ground beef, 1 1/2 cups crumbled crackers, 1 cup whole milk, 1/2 teaspoon Italian herbs, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 4 teaspoons cayenne, salt and pepper in a bowl.
Make 1/2 inch thick hamburger steaks from the mixture. Dip them in the flour.
4. Place the fillets in a baking dish after browning them in a skillet over medium-high heat.5. Combine 1 1/2 cups whole milk with 2 cans condensed mushroom soup and stir until smooth. When you’re ready to bake the fillets, pour the mixture over them.
6. Make sure the sauce is simmering and the meat is cooked through by covering with aluminum foil and baking for 30 minutes.Let rest for a few minutes before serving. Add a side dish of your choice! Enjoy it with the side dishes of your choice.
