Baked Pork Chops in Creamy Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or whole grain)
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme or Italian seasoning)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season and Sear the Pork Chops:
- Season the pork chops generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops and sear until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the pork chops and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the heavy cream, mustard, and dried herbs. Bring to a simmer.
- Cook the sauce until it begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Bake:
- Transfer the seared pork chops back to the skillet with the sauce. Spoon some of the sauce over the chops.
- Alternatively, if your skillet is not oven-safe, transfer the pork chops and sauce into a baking dish.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
- Serve hot, ideally with a side of mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables to soak up the delicious creamy sauce.
