Soft and Fluffy Vanilla Cupcakes with Sesame Topping

 

 

 

Ingredients

  • For the Cupcake Batter:
    • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional Topping:
    • Black or white sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined (do not overmix).
  3. Fill the Cupcake Liners:
    • Using a piping bag or spoon, fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  4. Add Sesame Seeds:
    • Sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds on top of each cupcake for a decorative and slightly nutty touch.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
    • Serve as is, or with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
