Ingredients
- For the Cupcake Batter:
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional Topping:
- Black or white sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fill the Cupcake Liners:
- Using a piping bag or spoon, fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Add Sesame Seeds:
- Sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds on top of each cupcake for a decorative and slightly nutty touch.
- Bake:
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve as is, or with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
