  “Golden Savory Sausage Rolls with Spicy Dipping Sauce”

Ingredients:

  • For the Rolls:
    • 1 pound sausage meat (you can use any kind like pork, chicken, or turkey)
    • 1 package puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
    • Sesame seeds for sprinkling
    • Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish
  • For the Dipping Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon hot sauce or to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix the sausage meat, onion, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Prepare the Pastry:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.
    • Cut the pastry into strips about 3 inches wide.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Divide the sausage mixture and shape into logs along each strip of pastry.
    • Brush one edge of the pastry with beaten egg.
    • Roll the pastry over the sausage, sealing it with the egg-washed edge.
    • Cut each roll into 2-inch pieces.
  4. Prepare for Baking:
    • Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Brush the tops with more beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Prepare the Dipping Sauce:
    • While the rolls are baking, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning and spiciness to taste.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve the sausage rolls hot with the prepared dipping sauce.
