- Corn
- Nori (seaweed)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Tofu:
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the tofu cubes until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Broth:
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the vegetable broth, soy sauce, miso paste, and chili paste (if using).
- Add the coconut milk if you prefer a creamy broth.
- Bring the broth to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes to develop the flavors.
- Cook the Ramen:
- While the broth is simmering, cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Assemble the Ramen Bowls:
- Divide the cooked noodles among four bowls.
- Pour the hot broth over the noodles.
- Top with crispy tofu, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds.
- Add any additional toppings you like, such as spinach, bok choy, mushrooms, corn, or nori.
- Serve:
- Serve the ramen hot, garnished with extra sesame seeds and a drizzle of sesame oil if desired.
Tips:
- To add extra flavor to the tofu, marinate it in the soy sauce mixture for 15-20 minutes before frying.
- You can customize the broth by adjusting the amount of miso paste, soy sauce, or chili paste to your taste.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free ramen noodles and tamari instead of soy sauce.
This Tofu Ramen is a comforting and satisfying meal that’s perfect for any time of year. Enjoy!
