Sweet Dough Fritters Recipe (Buñuelos)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional: powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for dusting

- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients:
- Mix in the melted butter, eggs, and milk until the dough comes together. It should be sticky but manageable. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour.
- Heat Oil:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Form and Fry Fritters:
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough into the hot oil using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
- Fry until golden brown on all sides, turning once, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain and Serve:
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar if desired.
