**Ingredients:**

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
– 1/2 cup heavy cream (plus extra for brushing)
– 1 large egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
– Powdered sugar (for dusting)

**Instructions:**

1. **Preheat Oven:**
– Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. **Mix Dry Ingredients:**
– In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. **Cut in Butter:**
– Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. **Prepare Wet Ingredients:**
– In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

5. **Combine Ingredients:**
– Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6. **Fold in Strawberries:**
– Gently fold in the chopped strawberries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

7. **Shape Scones:**
– Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, scoop out portions of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Leave some space between each scone.
