Spicy Peanut Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk or water (adjust for desired consistency)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Ingredients:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar (or lime juice), honey (or maple syrup), sesame oil, sriracha or chili sauce, grated ginger (if using), and minced garlic.
  2. Adjust the Consistency:
    • Gradually add the coconut milk or water, a little at a time, whisking until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. If you prefer a thinner sauce, add more liquid.
  3. Season to Taste:
    • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more sriracha or chili garlic sauce for extra heat, or more honey if you prefer a sweeter sauce.
  4. Serve:
    • Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes for additional spice (if desired). Garnish with chopped peanuts for some crunch.

Serving Suggestions:

  • As a Dip: Serve with fresh vegetables, spring rolls, or skewered grilled meats.
  • As a Dressing: Drizzle over salads, rice bowls, or noodles.
  • As a Sauce: Use it to coat stir-fried veggies, noodles, or grilled tofu.

This spicy peanut sauce is rich, flavorful, and perfect for adding a little kick to your meals. Let me know if you’d like any variations or further tips!
