Ingredients:

  • For the Dough:
    • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
    • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup melted butter
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 egg
    • 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Filling:
    • 1 cup chopped fresh or canned peaches (drained if canned)
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • For the Glaze:
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1-2 tablespoons milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
    • Add the melted butter, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture and mix well.
    • Gradually add the flour, starting with 3 cups, until the dough begins to form and becomes smooth and elastic, about 7-10 minutes of kneading. You may need to add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
    • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
    • Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter. Distribute the chopped peaches over the sugar layer.
  3. Shape the Rolls:
    • Roll the dough up tightly from the long edge, and pinch the seams to seal.
    • Cut into 12 even pieces and place in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
    • Cover and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  4. Bake:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth glaze. Adjust the consistency with more milk or sugar if necessary.
  6. Finish:
    • Remove the rolls from the oven and while still warm, drizzle the glaze over the top.
    • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
