- Allow the steaks to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the fillets and cook over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your liking. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the garlic and herbs (if using) to the pan and drizzle the fillets with the flavored oil.• Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to distribute throughout the meat and ensures a juicy steak.
- PREPARING BROCCOLI WITH CHEESE SAUCE:
- Steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 3-4 minutes, then transfer to a serving platter.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.Add the flour and cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.
- Add the milk little by little, making sure there are no lumps. Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper and, if necessary, a pinch of nutmeg.• Pour the cheese sauce over the steamed broccoli just before serving. Serving Suggestions:
Serve juicy steak alongside fluffy baked potatoes and cheesy broccoli for a feast that’s both visually appealing and delicious. The contrast of the rich, aromatic steak with the creamy potato and the freshness of the broccoli, garnished with a velvety cheese sauce, creates a balanced and enjoyable meal.
