Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (250 ml) peanut butter
- 3/4 cup (170 g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (200 g) powdered sugar
- 3 cups (270 g) crushed graham crackers or digestive biscuits
- 1 1/2 cups (270 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Prepare the base:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the peanut butter with the butter over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the powdered sugar and crushed graham crackers until well mixed.
- Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan.
- Melt the chocolate:
- In a separate bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth and fully melted.
- Assemble:
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour or until the chocolate sets.
- Cut into squares:
- Once set, cut into squares using a sharp knife. For cleaner cuts, you may heat the knife under hot water and then dry it before cutting.
