chicken patties or a similar type of savory fritter
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Oil for frying (olive oil or vegetable oil)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix everything together until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, you can add a little more breadcrumbs to help it hold together.
- Shape the Patties:
- Wet your hands slightly with water to prevent sticking and take a portion of the chicken mixture. Shape it into a round, flat patty about 1/2 inch thick. Repeat this with the rest of the mixture.
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a couple of tablespoons of oil.
- Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet (do not overcrowd). Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Serve the chicken patties hot with a side of vegetables, salad, or in a burger bun with your favorite toppings.
Tips:
- Adding Moisture: If your chicken mixture is too dry, consider adding a tablespoon of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt to moisten the mixture.
- Flavor Variations: Feel free to add other herbs and spices according to your taste preferences, such as dried oregano, basil, or a pinch of chili flakes for a bit of heat.
This recipe should make about 8-10 patties, perfect for a family meal or to save for later! Enjoy your homemade chicken patties!
