Cheesy Potato Bake Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for added flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Prepare Potatoes:
    • Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. A mandoline slicer is recommended for even thickness.
  3. Make Cheese Sauce:
    • In a saucepan, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
    • Add cream, milk, salt, pepper, and paprika to the pan and bring to a simmer.
    • Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Assemble the Bake:
    • In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
    • Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.
    • Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
    • Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese on top.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.
  6. Serve:
    • Let it cool slightly before serving.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley for a touch of color and freshness.
