INGREDIENTS
4 croissants, coarsely chopped
1 cup orange marmalade
1 pack almonds, at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
Zest of 1 orange
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350°F and add 2 qt cooking oil (an 8-inch square works well) to oil or nonstick baking Lubricate with spray.
Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the sugar and beat until smooth, then add the eggs, milk, orange zest and almonds and mix again.
Place the sliced croissants in the prepared bowl and add bits of the marmalade, stirring a little to distribute if necessary.
Pour the cream mixture over the croissants and cover the plate tightly with foil.
Bake for 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool slightly before serving. If desired, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and serve. To enjoy! 977
