Ingredients:

  • For the bread:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • For the cinnamon sugar topping:
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oven and Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, mix together the sugar, egg, milk, and oil.
  4. Make the Batter:
    • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. The batter will be slightly lumpy.
  5. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
  6. Assemble the Bread:
    • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
    • Pour the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over the batter.
    • Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
    • Slice and serve.
