Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Chicken:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Brown the Chicken:
    • In a large oven-proof skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat.
    • Add the chicken breasts and sear on both sides until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter.
    • Add the flour and stir for about 1 minute to form a roux.
    • Gradually add the chicken broth and heavy cream, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
    • Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Assemble and Bake:
    • Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them.
    • Top each breast with shredded mozzarella cheese.
    • Place the skillet in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top before serving.
