    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Toppings:
    • Shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Sliced onions
    • Cherry tomatoes, halved
    • Fresh basil or other herbs
    • Additional toppings as desired (peppers, olives, mushrooms, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit until frothy, about 10 minutes.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 7-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Make the Tomato Sauce:

    • Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  3. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to its highest setting, typically between 450°F (230°C) to 500°F (260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  4. Assemble the Pizzas:
    • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
    • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the dough. Top with mozzarella cheese, sliced onions, cherry tomatoes, and any other toppings you like.
  5. Bake the Pizzas:
    • Transfer the pizzas to the preheated oven (on a pizza stone or a baking sheet) and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
