Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
    • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
    • 1 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 2 tsp instant yeast
    • 3/4 cup (180ml) warm milk
    • 1/4 cup (60ml) warm water
    • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • For the Garlic Butter Topping:
    • 3 tbsp melted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
    • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For the Cheese Topping:
    • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
    • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional for creamy texture)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
    • Add warm milk, water, and softened butter. Knead for about 8-10 minutes (by hand or mixer with a dough hook) until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  2. Shape the Rolls:
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into small, equal-sized balls.
    • Arrange the balls close together on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  3. Add Toppings:
    • Mix the garlic butter topping (melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt) in a bowl.
    • Brush the garlic butter generously over the dough balls.
    • In a separate bowl, mix the shredded cheese with mayonnaise, then spread or pipe it over the dough balls as shown in the image.
  4. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:
    • Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm, as they pull apart beautifully.
