Smoky BBQ Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the BBQ Rub:
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to your heat preference)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Optional BBQ Sauce (for basting):
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pork Chops:
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
- Rub each chop with olive oil, salt, and pepper to help the seasoning stick.
- Make the BBQ Rub:
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, papaprikas, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
- Generously coat each pork chop with the BBQ rub on all sides.
- Preheat Your Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to reach a medium heat (you can hold your hand about 5 inches above the grill surface for 5-7 seconds).
- Grill the Pork Chops:
- Place the pork chops on the grill and cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- If you’re basting with BBQ sauce, brush the chops with the sauce mixture during the last few minutes of grilling on each side to create a caramelized exterior.
- Rest and Serve:
- Remove the pork chops from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Serve hot, with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
This method should give you pork chops that are smoky, flavorful, and with a sticky, caramelized crust similar to the ones in your photo. Perfect for a hearty meal with sides of coleslaw, baked beans, or a fresh salad. Enjoy your cooking! If you have any other specific dishes or cuisines in mind, let me know!
